Privacy Policy

TripTender does not collect any data. There are no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your device.
What we collect
Nothing. TripTender has no backend. We never receive, see, store, or process any information about you or your travels. There is no sign-up, no login, no email address, no device identifier, and no usage tracking of any kind.
What the app stores, and where
The app stores what you enter directly on your device, in its own private storage:
- Trips — names, dates, budgets, home currency, travellers
- Expenses — amounts, currencies, categories, notes, places, dates, payment method, who paid, how it was split
- Exchange rates you have edited
- Countries and cities you have marked as visited
- Your app-lock PIN, stored only as a salted SHA-256 hash — never the PIN itself, and it cannot be reversed back into your PIN
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it. Deleting the app removes all of it permanently.
Network access
TripTender makes no network requests at all. The app is fully functional offline by design — exchange rates ship with the app and are edited by you, rather than fetched from a server.
This is enforced technically, not just by policy: the app runs under a strict Content Security Policy that blocks all outbound connections. Even if some code attempted to transmit your data, the app would prevent it.
Third parties
There are none. TripTender contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting, no social media integrations, and no third-party code libraries of any kind. We do not sell, share, rent, or disclose your information — because we never have it in the first place.
Files you export
TripTender can generate a CSV spreadsheet, a PDF expense report, or a full JSON backup at your request. These are created entirely on your device and saved wherever you choose. Once you share or store such a file it is outside the app's control, so treat backups as you would a bank statement. We never receive copies.
Permissions
TripTender requests no special permissions. It does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, calendar, health data, or files.
Children's privacy
TripTender is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. You have complete and direct control: your data lives on your device, you can export it at any time as a JSON backup, and you can erase it by deleting a trip or uninstalling the app.
For users in the EU/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA): we are not a data controller or processor of any personal data, as none is ever transmitted to or collected by us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address with an updated date above. Since the app collects nothing, any change would be a clarification rather than a reduction in your privacy.
